Bookish Buzz-November 2016

I thought it would be cool to update you on some of the bookish things that have been happening at the end of every month. I’m going to try to stay as updated as possible, but if I miss something in this post, make sure to let me know.

The Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them Movie Franchise Will Be Five Movies.

I’m pretty sure you all know this, but the originally three movie franchise will now be a five movie franchise. Many people are skeptical of this many movies, but I genuinely think that the story needs a lot of time to develop.

Maggie Stiefvater’s Spin Off Raven Cycle Series Seems To Be Happening

A little while ago, Maggie Stiefvater announced a spin off series about Ronan from The Raven Cycle. I have been cautiously hopeful about this new series. Then Maggie tweeted this and I have not been okay since.

Fingers are crossed that this series will come out reasonably soon.

Before I Fall Movie Trailer Released

Though I have yet to read a Lauren Oliver book, I thought this was important news. I know a lot of people were not aware that this movie was happening, but obviously it definitely is. Should I read Before I Fall before any of Lauren Oliver’s books so I am ready for this movie?

Lord of Shadows Cover Was Released

Though I am pretty over the Shadowhunter books, I will still probably be reading Lord of Shadows. The cover confuses me greatly. It looks like Julian is drowning in water next to the London landscape. What do you think is happening in this cover?

YA Authors Are Writing Superhero Books

Random House has paired up with DC so that popular YA authors will be writing books about some of the most beloved superheros. Leigh Bardugo will be writing about Wonder Woman, Marie Lu will be writing about Batman, Matt de la Pena on Superman, and finally Sarah J Maas on my personal favorite, Catwoman.

Melissa de la Cruz Is Writing A Book About Hamilton

Fellow theatre nerds get excited. Melissa de le Cruz is writing a YA book inspired by Hamilton called Alex and Eliza. It will be a historical fiction romance about how Alexander Hamitlon and Eliza Schuyler first met. Alex and Eliza will be released on April  11, 2017.

Shadowhunters Season 2 Has An Air Date

Though I am not super excited about Season 2 of Shadowhunters, I will most definitely be watching it (and posting reviews). The new season has been set to air on January 2, 2017. I have been staying away from trailers and spoilers, but I do know that Sebastian will be a prominent roll in Season 2. Are you happy about this?

That was all the bookish buzz I have for this month. If you know of anything else, make sure to let me know! What are you most excited for? I would love to know.

  1. I missed about half of these things, but the superhero books sound so good! I can’t wait to read those!
And I’ve read Before I Fall such a long time ago, but the trailer looks really interesting. I really want to see that movie, but I won’t reread the book.
I’m also kinda over the whole shadowhunters thing, I still watch the tv series but I don’t know about the books. I’m interested in reading this new series, but not interested enough to actually pick up the books. I wish Cassandra Clare just thought of some new concept, it feels like this is the only thing she does: writing books set in the shadowhunter world.
    This is a great post!

    • Thanks! I totally agree with you about the Shadowhunters books. I’m sure I will be watching the TV show, but I probably won’t read Lord of Shadows. Unless the hype surrounding it is to much for me to not read it.

      • I might read it, but it’ll probably somewhere at the bottom of my tbr anyway, just like Lady Midnight is, so chances are I’ll never even read it.
